QuickPress for Quick Ideas

QuickPress to catch Ideas as they drip out

I don’t know if any of you are using the QuickPress on the admin page of your WordPress 2.7 blog. I’m using it all the time, but not to write quick posts.

Instead I’m using it as my brain storming editor. When an idea pops into my head I don’t have time to flesh out at the moment I create a QuickPress post and save it as a draft. It goes right into my drafts and I don’t find myself a couple of days later going “What was that idea I had for a post?”

QuickPress is perfect. It is right there. It takes no time to open, and I can put down the skeleton and flesh out the post at my convenience. Don’t limit your use of this great tool thinking it is only for publishing Quick Posts.

QuickPress for Quick Draft Posts.   Don’t let those ideas evaporate before you capture them with QuickPress

That’s a good idea to use it as a draft/idea saver! I couldn’t use it for posts because most of my sites require custom fields and excerpts…but I might have to try it next time I get an idea :)

  2. Any idea what the designers had in mind for it’s true purpose? I can’t think of any reason I would create a post from that thing. Not enough features.

I do like your idea though. Quick way to put some drafts in the air.

    Scott,

I think there are a lot of blogs which don’t have lengthy posts. They post several times a day and use their blog almost like a glorified Twitter.

For them the QuickPress feature is great.

  4. OK. Once you said that, I had to take my brain off of Real Estate blogs and realize that totally makes sense.

I have read some non-real estate blogs that are very much read like someone on acid or crack!
