Here’s a new plugin that will give you a similar effect of a Callout box.  You don’ t have to do any styling or CSS changes for this plugin to do it’s magic on your blog.  You do have to know a little HTML, just enough to add a p class to your content.

If you use the p class=”important” you get the keys and a nice dark blue background.

If you use the p class=”tip” you get this.

If you use the p class=”help” you get this.

If you use the p class=”alert” you get this.

Finally, if you use the p class=”note” you get this.

Want your note to go on for more than just a single line.
Well it gets a little tricky from this point.
You can’t enter a paragraph inside this class. You can add a list.

It is for quick notes, that’s all, no lists, no paragraphs in paragraphs.

Depending on the type of blog you have this could be a really nice added visual feature. If you want to get fancy with it and include lists etc. Then you have to do some plugin modifications. And it is probably easier to just add some CSS and do it yourself.

But if you want something that adds this functionality with the simplicity of a plugin and p class. Then the Style Box plugin is perfect.

I used to put links to the all the plugin pages for easy download. Now simply go to Add New on the Plug-in tab and type “Style Box”. The link to install will appear.
This by the way is a tip, I could have made it a note, or a help, but I didn’t it is just a tip.

    Brad,

Lol, I did it different this time. It is in the last paragraph.

“I used to put links to the all the plugin pages for easy download. Now simply go to Add New on the Plug-in tab and type “Style Box”. The link to install will appear”

I’ll go back to the old (quick) method from now on.

I liked the CSS style. I never know HTML but still can I use this one on my blog? If HTML is necessary I must learn basic HTML from my son.

    herretoej,

The only HTML you need to know is in this post. It is pretty easy to add a

    p class=”help” to a post.

Just found your website! I’m a little bit overwhelmed by all that one needs to know on Wordpress.org so I’m going to keep an eye on you. This plugin looks great. Thanks for sharing!
